Our Mission
Dr. Blaine’s Center for Betterment exists to provide best-practice, community-based treatment services that help individuals reach their full potential as independent and productive members of society.
We specialize in supporting people transitioning from incarceration (reentry) and those seeking sustained recovery from substance use disorders. Through quality care, education, and expertise, we help participants and their families achieve lasting sobriety and break the cycle of crime and addiction.
Our Vision
We envision Blaine’s Center as a leading outpatient provider that integrates comprehensive substance use treatment with reentry resources through a single, accessible point of care.
Rooted in Hanover, we aim to revitalize our community by helping individuals rebuild their lives — one person, one family, and one neighborhood at a time. We believe everyone can become better. With the right guidance, education, and support, people can overcome addiction, successfully reenter society, pursue further education or trades, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
In time, we plan to expand with multiple facilities tailored to meet people where they are and guide them toward where they want to be.
Our Philosophy
Addiction affects the whole person — biologically, psychologically, socially, spiritually, and volitionally. That’s why we use a holistic treatment model tailored to each individual’s needs.
We recognize that addiction impacts entire families across generations. When appropriate and with client permission, we involve loved ones in the recovery process.
Our programs combine evidence-based therapies with practical reentry support to help prevent future problems in family, legal, employment, housing, and social areas. We are committed to the highest standards of care, confidentiality, and respect for every person we serve, regardless of background or ability to pay.
Who We Serve
Our outpatient programs are designed for individuals seeking help with substance use, those reentering society after incarceration, and people with co-occurring mental health and addiction challenges (once stabilized and connected with appropriate care).
Every participant receives a comprehensive assessment to determine the best level of care and personalized treatment recommendations. We maintain collaboration with other professionals (with your signed consent) to support the best possible outcomes.
Confidentiality
We strictly follow all federal and state confidentiality guidelines. Information is shared only on a need-to-know basis within our team or with your explicit written consent, except in cases required by law (such as imminent danger to self or others, or reports of child/elder abuse).
